      Florence A. Thom, 84, 815 S. Washington St., died at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

      She was born May 1, 1915, in Wichita, Kan., to Peter and Sadie (Koogan) Scholidon. In May 1932, in Bascom, she married Carl J. Thom Sr. He died May 30, 1973.

      Surviving are two sons, Carl J. Jr. and Wallace Thom, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Carol) Wyss of Tiffin and Mrs. Eusebio (Janet) Guzman Jr. of Fremont; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Dunn of Fostoria; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

      Also preceding her in death were three sons, Norman, Donald and Kenneth Thom; two brothers, John and Anthony Scholidon; two sisters, Nora Simms and Martha Sendelbach; a grandson,
      Michael Thom; and a great-grandson, R.J. Miller.

      Mrs. Thom, a homemaker and an avid bingo player, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Tiffin Eagles 402 Auxiliary.

      The Rev. James K. Say will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Friday funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

      Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:45.

      Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
