      Kirian's Marathon owner/operator

      Emil C. Kirian, 80, 190 St. Francis Ave., died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in St. Francis Home.

      He was born May 20, 1919, in Frenchtown, to Frank J. and Matilda (Welter) Kirian. His wife, Helen M. (Paulus) Kirian, whom he married Sept. 23, 1939, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, survives.

      Survivors also include: three sons, John Kirian of Tiffin, Ronald Kirian of North Raleigh, N.C. and Dennis Kirian of Toledo; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Kathleen) Baker of Toledo and Mrs. Roger (Patricia) Dariano of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

      Three sisters, Ethel Reinhart, Genevieve Schultz and Marianne Neiderkohr; and twin brothers, Andrew and Cyril, also are deceased.

      Mr. Kirian, an avid golfer and woodworker, was the owner/operator of Kirian's Marathon for 30 years.

      He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 608.

      A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd and the Rev. Richard Dunn, as concelebrants. The rosary will be recited at the church at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
      Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.

      Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home's Alzheimer Center, Community Hospice Care or the Seneca County Dialysis Ltd.
