CAREY -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Linus Andrew Reinhart, 110, of Eaglewood Care Center will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Reinhart died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003. He was the second oldest man in the United States.
Born July 28, 1892 to Thomas and Anna (Arend) Reinhart, he married the late Esther E. Brooks on February 25, 1919.
Surviving are four sons, Harold of Barrington, Ill.; Donald and Franklin, both of Carey; Bernard of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Lou) Gohl, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mrs. Eugene (Rita) Newell, Galion; Mrs. Dwight (Virginia) Orians, Carey; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Reinhart, retired, was a farmer and operated a seed corn business. He was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus, was on the board of directors of the Wyandot County Farm Bureau, and the Carey Locker Plant.
